Key Focus Groups

The People We Serve

We’ve identified three strategic groups as key to helping people exit abusive and exploitative situations and to developing healthy communities where abuse and exploitation won’t thrive.

Moms & Children

THE NEED

Working-class Bangkok mothers are often single or virtually single, and usually working multiple jobs and finding income in creative ways. Stress, exhaustion, and burn-out are common, which can result in fractured families, neglect, and abuse.

SERVING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES

Work towards healthy connections and support networks, like mentoring and parent coaching groups. We provide assistance for basic needs, like quality childcare and school fees.

SERVING THE COMMUNITY

Partner with local schools and learn the needs of teachers and administrators. Come alongside them to support student and parent connection.

Teenagers

THE NEED

Teens are often unparented and are poorly supervised. Secondary schooling is not engaging and often punitive; drop outs are high. Experimentation with sex, prostitution, and drugs is common, and social media fuels these toxic patterns. Healthy role models, mentors, and caring adults are virtually nonexistent.

SERVING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES

We seek to foster a sense of belonging in a safe community and to provide tangible support for education.

SERVING THE COMMUNITY

We provide opportunities for teens at our community center and are involved at the local secondary school.

Women with Chronic Needs

THE NEED

Older women living with chronic physical and mental health conditions can fall through the cracks. For many, a life of trauma has taken a toll and they suffer from multiple conditions. They may live and work on the streets.

SERVING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES

We provide compassionate connection and tangible support for the basic needs and health care expenses of older women who struggle with daily functioning.

SERVING THE COMMUNITY

We attempt to mobilize and partner with the Thai Christian community to know how to engage with those whom society has forgotten.
